“The Merlin Graduate Programme enabled my transition from student to professional person. It has been my opportunity to grow at a pace that suited me, in a range of departments and environments, as the modules were really varied and offered lots of different learning styles.
“One involved a challenge to erect a flag pole without handling the main structure, teaching us that leaders step back to oversee situations and spot opportunities - I have used this daily! The secondments have helped me understand myself more and how I can succeed – a real benefit of the programme. The tools I have learned will stay with me for the rest of my life.
“The overall highlight for me was achieving “Employee of the Year” for Thorpe Park in 2006, the year I started the graduate programme. Merlin is constantly expanding with more and more opportunities just around the corner. Importantly the programme has allowed me to raise my profile, both within in each attraction and also in the boardroom!”
