Fundraising Manager

SEA LIFE Trust Gweek, The Cornish Seal Sanctuary
United Kingdom

Fancy a job like no other? Where our vision is of a world where our oceans are healthy, properly protected and full of diverse life.

We have big plans for the next 5 years so if you can help us secure some trust and foundation support, implement a community fundraising plan and come up with the next great onsite giving scheme to maximise donations, we’d love to hear from you!

Do you have what it takes?

  • You’ll have a passion for wildlife and the environment.
  • A creative thinker, as forming excellent initiatives on limited budgets is vital.
  • Somebody who can think outside of the box.
  • You’ll be a pro-active person who can use their own initiative for the greater good of the charity.
  • Ideally, you’ll have experience of fundraising with writing trust, foundation, and grant writing applications.
  • Have worked on fundraising databases before and understand fundraising best practices and legislation.

We’re looking for a fundraising professional, ideally with some broad sector experience, based at the sanctuary on a permanent full-time contract. We need you to help us deliver our new 5-year fundraising plan working with our central team at the SEA LIFE Trust and our Beluga Whale Sanctuary to deliver this and with extra time given to support the Cornish Seal Sanctuary.

You’ll not only be committed to passionately fundraising for the Trust and sanctuaries and growing income for the Seal Sanctuary, you’ll also grow a dedicated audience of supporters for the SEA LIFE Trust.

You could be supporting with global events and campaigns such as SEA LIFE Trust Global Beach Clean, maximise onsite donations and gift aid giving for the sanctuary, creating new initiatives for targeted appeals or even enhance and manager the sanctuary’s animal adoption schemes.

What’s in it for you?

Alongside working closely to seals and penguins, you’ll also receive:

  • A salary of £25,000 per annum
  • A non-contractual discretionary company bonus
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Merlin Magic Pass - giving you free tickets to all Merlin Entertainment attractions worldwide for you, your family, and friends every year

Sounds pretty great, right?

To reflect the changeable situation regarding COVID guidelines, should you be successful in your application, interviews may be conducted initially via phone or video call. If requested to attend one of our attractions for a face-to-face interview, we have hygiene and safety measures in place, and you will be asked to adhere to these.
